Pair Of Recent GTCC Graduates Honored For Classroom Achievements By National Tool Manufacturers

Timothy Brinkley and Hector Hernandez De la Cruz honored by national tool manufacturers for their classroom success.

A pair of recent Guilford Technical Community College graduates have been honored by national tool manufacturers for their classroom success.

Timothy Brinkley, a Greensboro resident who recently completed GTCC’s Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Program, was named the 2021 Malco Tools Annual Head of The Class recipient.

Brinkley, who graduated this spring, maintained a 4.0 grade point average and was a bronze medal winner in the 2021 North Carolina SkillsUSA HVACR competition.

Brinkley was awarded a certificate and a tool prize for his accomplishment. Brinkley is now employed full time with Berico Heating and Air Conditioning.

Hector Hernandez De la Cruz, also of Greensboro, was selected to receive the Klein Tools Outstanding Graduate Award. The award is presented annually to an outstanding student in a certified heating, ventilating and air condition program.

De la Cruz, who graduated this spring, received a certificate, a Klein multi-meter and a special pair of engraved lineman’s pliers for his achievement. De la Cruz is now employed by All Phase Heating and Air.
